WP III: Microassembly-Summary(I)

Task III.1- Advanced tools for microssembly

• Finished December 2005
• Deliverables M III.1 and M III.2 show intermediate and final results, resp., of the work done on development of assembly tools (pick-and-join, laser joining, bonding with hot gas stream)

Task III.2- Microassembly strategies

• Started in January 2005, running till Decemb 2006 (Deliverable M III.4)
• Deliverable MIII.3 summarizes state of the art and review on relevant microassembly strategies, processes and tools.
• Concrete assembly applications have been implemented (sealing of polymeric microfluidic devices, microsolderer resistor, optical fibers in grooves, 8x8 cross connection switches)
