UNINOVA

UNINOVA is acting mainly in the fields of robotics, electronics, microelectronics, optoelectronics, artificial intelligence, environments, vacuum and production technologies. To perform the R&D work, UNINOVA is organized in centres of excellence, involving more than 150 scientists and technologists. CEMOP is one of the UNINOVA centres, created in 1989, being the main activities related to: development of processes and production techniques related to macro/microelectronics and optoelectronics fields, filling and existing gap in the Portuguese RD&D area. A particular area of expertise of CEMOP deals with the thin films technologies and the development of new type of devices such as optical position sensors.

  Tasks of UNINOVA in ASSEMIC:

  • Integration of static and dynamic optical sensors in automatic feedback positioning systems

  • Handling strategies involving specialized procedures and devices such as dynamic optical sensors

  • System integration, image processing techniques, machine tool supervision

  • Handling of microcomponents within a fluid

  • System performance assessment
